Best Outdoor Toys for Toddlers During Confinement
My Son is going on three years old, and he loves to play. I am SOO grateful for the weather we have in Houston during all this confinement. I know MANY other cities are not as lucky. We are able to play outside in our backyard most days!
Water Table
My son loves his water table! He comes up with new things to do with it everyday! Yes, we do take a lot of baths now. Sometimes, I do like the idea of the ones with an umbrella over them when it’s a lot of direct sun.
Bubble Machine
We have used this a lot. It goes through a lot of bubbles, so we definitely buy the big bubble container. I turn on happy music and the bubbles, and sit outside sipping coffee. It is definitely better than watching the news.
Lawn Mower
After my neighbor told me her son was obsessed with this, I bought one. Now, my son loves “helping Daddy” cut the grass. He pushes it around all the time even if my husband is not cutting the grass.
Tonka Truck
Like I said, we take lots of baths! This is a fun addition. My husband picked up a couple bags of cheap dirt too, and I let me son play with that so he doesn’t wreck my vegetable gardens. This is the metal kind, so it is very heavy duty!
Chalk
This is a classic and is always cheap and fun. I also love that people have been writing positive messages on their driveways.
Gardening Tools
Shovels, and any tools for the garden are great. I had my son help me plant seeds this year. Often times he prefers using my digger, so you might consider just buying an extra adult digger. We also have a plastic watering can, and he wants to wear gloves like me.
Wheel Barrow
I bought this for my son to use at my parent’s house since they have a lot more land, but we have brought a lot of the stuff they had to our house for additional entertainment. It has been great since I have been working in the garden a lot more.
Kites
If you have a place to fly it, we have used this too!
